Function

A window is not only there to admit light and to open a view. If it is your own window, you can ascribe any function to it you wish, and the pleasure it gives others will be like the pleasure others gain from hearing options from your lips which are your own and not someone else's. The real function of a window is to admit the forces of nature and be glamorous and illuminating to the mind as well as the room. I'll look through a window if there is one, from time to time, and if it's dirty, I'll look at it too. I can decide this adds functionality. The possibility of dirt on window glass is an essential part of glass window. When clean and dirt are equal parts of the design, the fact of one or the other adds to the options and attitudes of the window. A window just having such things is valuable.
